Davis Cup: Daniil Medvedev leads Russia to Davis Cup semi-finals

MADRID: Tennis star Daniil Medvedev maintained his impressive record in the Davis Cup final to lead Russia to the semi-finals. Medvedev defeated Mikhail Yamer 6-4, 6-4 to give Russia an unassailable 2-0 lead over Sweden in the quarterfinals. Medvedev had previously defeated Spanish Pablo Carreo Busta and Ecuadorian Emilio Gómez in the group stage.

Medvedev, 25, had to fight hard against Yamer. Yamer broke Medvedev’s serve three times.
