David Warner Debuts in Telugu Film Robinhood

It looks like the world of cricket and cinema are about to collide in a major way. Australian cricketer David Warner, a former opening batsman, is all set to make his debut in Telugu films. Just a while back, news broke out that he would be making a cameo appearance in Nitin and Shreela’s film “Robinhood”. Now, the makers and the cricketer himself have shared the first look poster from the film, which is all set to release on March 28 this month.

David Warner has long been a fan of Telugu cinema, and despite not being picked up by any team in the IPL 2025, he has been quite the sensation on social media with his entertaining reels. Several of his videos, featuring him dancing to popular Hindi and Telugu songs, have gone viral. As a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the IPL, Warner has a considerable fan following in the South.

David Warner announces his arrival in Indian cinema

Sharing the first look poster of “Robinhood”, David Warner wrote, “Indian cinema, I’m coming… Excited to be a part of Robinhood. Had a blast during the entire shoot.” The film’s director is Venky Kudumula, and the producers are Mytri Movie Makers. Initially, “Robinhood” was supposed to release on December 25, 2024, but it got postponed, allegedly due to the release of “Pushpa 2” around the same time.

“Robinhood” to face off against “Sikandar” at the box office

As “Robinhood” gears up for release on March 28, it will be facing competition from Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna’s “Sikandar”, which is also releasing around the same time. Although “Robinhood” won’t be releasing in Hindi, “Sikandar” is set for a pan-India release, which might pose a challenge for “Robinhood” in South Indian theaters. Will David Warner’s cameo be enough to draw in the crowds, or will “Sikandar” steal the show? Only time will tell.
