A serious accusation has landed at the feet of David Luiz. His former partner, Francisca Cavalcante, says the football star threatened her life. She also accused him of psychological violence. This complaint was filed last Saturday, after their relationship ended.
A Brazilian court wasted no time reacting. The Court of Justice in Ceará banned David Luiz from contacting Ms. Cavalcante. He cannot even get close to her. Reports from ‘UOL’ say these threats came via Instagram messages. The messages are chilling.
One message allegedly read, “You know I have money and power, so don’t try to be clever.” It continued, “It would be sad if your son had to pay for your actions.” Then came the stark warning: “I can simply make you disappear.” The sender claimed someone knew her exact location. They also said no one could ever trace anything back to them. The message ended with a command to delete it. These ‘prints’ were provided to police and released by ‘UOL’.
Francisca Cavalcante, also known as Karol, wrote in her report, “After our relationship finished, he started threatening me constantly.” She felt truly unsafe. “I felt like he would really do to me what Bruno Fernandes did to Eliza Samudio,” she stated. This fear was very real for her. She worried for her own life and her son’s safety.
Bruno Fernandes was once a well-known Brazilian goalkeeper. He played for big clubs like Flamengo and Corinthians. But his name became famous for a different, darker reason. In 2010, he was arrested for the kidnapping and murder of Eliza Samudio. She was his former partner and mother of his child. He received a sentence of 22 years and three months in prison in 2013.
David Luiz has responded to these severe allegations. His representatives quickly issued a statement. The former Benfica player denies all accusations. They added that “all legal steps are already being taken” on his behalf.
