David Lloyd announces his withdrawal from Cricket comments

Former England cricketer and coach David Lloyd announced Tuesday that he will step down as a Sky Sports commentator. He played the role of commentator for more than two decades. Lloyd is 74 years old and joined the Sky Sports team in 1999. After this, he became a well-known voice of cricket coverage.

He commented on a number of big games, including the 2015 Ashes Test at Trentbridge in which Stuart Broad took eight wickets for 15 runs and England pitched Australia 60 on the morning of the first day.

In a statement posted on social media, Lloyd said: “After 22 wonderful years with Sky Sports, I have now decided to step away from the microphone.”

He said: “There are so many wonderful memories. I have witnessed many great games and incredible performances. I have been fortunate to have traveled the world with all of you with the ups and downs of the ashes, the wins and losses of the World Cups, he shared the best and the bad acting. “

He described commenting with Bill Lawrie in 2013 as a special moment for him. Lloyd said: “It was very memorable working with Ian Bishop, Ravi Shastri, Shane Warne, Shaun Pollock and Ian Smith, among many others.”

Ashes: Ponting raised questions about Root’s captaincy, said: what are you doing on the field?

Lloyd played nine Tests and eight one-day internationals for England between 1973 and 1980. He scored a century each in both formats, including an undefeated 214 in his second Test against India at Edgbaston in July 1974.
