It feels like just yesterday we were all diving deep with Dave, reeling in strange fish and serving up sushi. But believe it or not, “Dave the Diver” just hit its two-year mark. To celebrate, the developers dropped some exciting news for fans. They even managed to bring back a fan-favorite, against some pretty big odds.
Remember the limited-time Godzilla crossover? It wrapped up late last year, and we were told it wouldn’t return due to licensing hurdles. Well, big news! The King of the Monsters is back in the ocean, and this time, the special event will stick around for ages. You can enjoy the Godzilla content until at least December 2026. That’s a long time to get your kaiju fix.
It’s not just Godzilla making an unexpected return. The “Ichiban’s Holiday” DLC, which brought characters from the Yakuza series into Dave’s world, also got a surprise extension. This content was set to vanish this coming October. Now, it’ll stay available for players through the end of next year. It’s great to see more content sticking around for longer.
However, there’s a small hiccup for those eager for brand new adventures. The next big DLC, titled “In the Jungle,” needs a bit more time in development. Originally planned for release this year, we’ll now have to wait until early 2026 to explore its new depths. We’re still waiting to hear what new content it will bring and what its price tag will be.
“Dave the Diver” is available on several platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. If you’re playing on PC, you might want to check out the current Steam Summer Sale. The game is currently 40% off during the sale, which runs until July 11.
