Dauphiné critérium awaits for Egan Bernal, Vingegaard, Yates…

To see Egan Bernal competing again, we will have to wait another week. Although he was going to participate in the Tour of Norway, he was finally left out and it would be preparing to arrive at the Dauphiné Critérium that will be held from June 4 to 11 with 8 stages. The official page of the race put the Colombian as one of the candidates to fight for first place and beat Jonas Vingegaard who arrives as the main favorite.

“The winner of the 2022 Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard, appears as the great favorite for the 75th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné, although he does not have the luxury guides that surrounded him last summer. Leader of the Jumbo-Visma, the Dane will have to face particularly determined opponents such as David Gauduwho beat him in Paris-Nice, but also Mikel Landa, Enric Mas, Adam Yates, including Egan Bernal and Richard Carapaz”, informed the official page of the competition.

Egan, with “more doubts than certainties” at the Dauphiné Critérium

Egan continues to dream of reaching the Tour de France and Ineos hopes to make the decision after seeing him in competitions such as the Dauphiné Critérium. The race considers that the Colombian’s performance will depend on the physical form in which he arrives. In Hungary, the last competition he was in, he showed a good level despite the fall he suffered and finished in the top 10, second of the year.

“The review of the favorites necessarily invites us to resort to UAE Team Emirates, which ranks Adam Yates after his success in the Tour de Romandie as well as Marc Soler, 4th in Catalonia. If they have been used to the first ranks (7 successes in the last 12 editions), The Ineos Grenadiers present themselves with more questions than certainties, whether it is the state of form of Egan Bernal or that of the former winner Dani Martínez (2020)”quoted the Critérium of the Dauphiné.
