Dasun Shanaka single-handedly won the match for Sri Lanka, such was the excitement of the last three overs

The final match of the three match T20 series between Australia and Sri Lanka (AUS vs SL) in Pallekal ended in a very exciting fashion. Throughout this match, the Australia team dominated from start to finish, but in the last three overs, Sri Lanka capsized. Sri Lanka’s captain Dasun Shanaka batted vigorously in the last over and gave his team victory in the match.

Chasing the target of 177 runs against Australia, the Sri Lankan team were able to score just 118 runs from 17 overs. 6 lanky batsmen had also returned to the pavilion. Now, in the last three overs, Sri Lanka needed 59 runs to win. On the first ball of the 18, Karunaratne took a single and the strike came to captain Dasun Shanaka, Shanaka was hitting very slow. Here, Shanaka hit fours on the first two balls and then hit six in a row and leveled the scorecard. A one ball run was needed for the win and Richardson threw the ball wide. Thus, the Sri Lankan team won this match with one ball left to play.
