Darshan Thoogudeepa, a Kannada actor, has been granted permission to travel abroad by a Bangalore court. The court’s decision allows Darshan to shoot for his upcoming film from July 1 to July 27.
The actor, currently out on bail, had requested permission to travel under Section 439(1)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court has made it clear that Darshan must not violate the terms of his bail and must attend court proceedings regularly.
This development comes after Darshan had earlier obtained permission from the court to shoot for his film at various locations in India. The actor had been accused of involvement in the murder of his fan, Renukaswamy, along with 15 other individuals.
The court has warned Darshan that if he fails to attend court proceedings in the future, his bail may be revoked. In the past, Darshan had cited back pain as a reason for not attending court, but was later spotted at a film premiere, which had displeased the court.
The Karnataka police have challenged the bail granted to Darshan and other accused in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has issued a notice in the case and scheduled a hearing date.
It’s worth noting that the Renukaswamy murder case had created a stir in Karnataka last June. The case implicated Darshan and 15 others, leading to a significant investigation by the Karnataka police.
As the case continues to unfold, the court’s decision to allow Darshan to travel abroad has brought both relief and scrutiny to the actor. With the Supreme Court’s involvement, the outcome of the case remains to be seen.
