Dani Sordo will also race in the Safari Rally

The Safari Rally will be the fifth participation of the year for Dani Sordo and Cándido Carrera. The Hyundai team has confirmed that the Spanish will be at the African event to be held in Kenya from June 22 to 25, one of the events with the longest tradition in the World Championship due to its toughness and its beautiful images on the savannah.

After Monte Carlo, Mexico, Portugal and Italy (which takes place on the first weekend of June), the one in Kenya will be the fifth participation of the year for Sordo and Carrera, who in their last outing on Portuguese soil garnered second place. The Cantabrian pilot was already in the Safari in 2021, but he does not have very good memories, since he had to retire after suffering mechanical problems.

Meanwhile, at Hyundai they continue to study who will be the pilot who will take the place of the sadly deceased Craig Breen. Several already known names such as Andreas Mikkelsen, Kris Meeke or Hayuden Paddon are being speculated, although the head of the formation has repeated on various occasions that he would prefer to have a young promise as an investment for the future.
