Dani Sordo renews with Hyundai for 2022

The news advanced by AS on September 13, has been confirmed. Dani Sordo will remain at Hyundai, sharing the third car with young Oliver Solberg. In turn, also as anticipated then, Craig Breen has been confirmed by Ford as the new head of ranks for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Sordo will continue with the team he has been competing with since 2014 for another year. The Spaniard has not only earned the affection of his members, but also the respect for his important contribution to training. He will share the third car with the jewel in the crown, the young Solberg, called to be future champion as his father did.

“I have said many times before that Hyundai Motorsport is like family to me, so I am happy to continue my career with them in the new hybrid era of the World Rally Championship ”, said Dani. “We have been working together for many years and we have shared some important moments. I hope there is more to come as we prepare for new challenges. It is important to have consistency as we face new regulations, but we are also fortunate to have new talents such as Oliver with us in this new adventure. I’m excited”.

“I am very happy and proud to join the M-Sport Ford team.” Breen confessed. “It has been a long road for us in the World Rally Championship with many twists and turns, but now we have been given a golden ticket to drive for the most prestigious brand in motorsports and fight for the title. Ford has always been very close to my heart when my career began in the Ford Fiesta winning the Junior Championship, before winning the S2000 World Rally Championship in a Ford Fiesta S2000. Adding my name to the list of drivers who have driven for Ford is a bit surreal, like Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Colin McRae or Carlos Sainz ”.
