‘Dangal’ Actress Zaira Wasim, Who Quit Bollywood at 18, Marries

Zaira Wasim, the acclaimed actress recognized for her role in Aamir Khan’s “Dangal,” has announced her marriage. She shared photographs of her wedding, known as a Nikah, on social media on Friday.

The images posted show Wasim signing the marriage contract. Another picture features her alongside her husband.

For the ceremony, Wasim wore a traditional red ensemble. Her post was captioned with the phrase, “Qubool hai, Qubool hai, Qubool hai,” which translates to “I accept, I accept, I accept.”

Fans quickly flooded her social media with congratulatory messages.

Wasim rose to prominence for her performances in “Dangal” (2016) and “Secret Superstar” (2017). She also appeared in Priyanka Chopra’s “The Sky Is Pink” (2019).

In 2019, at the age of 18, Wasim publicly declared her departure from Bollywood. This decision, also shared on social media, was motivated by her desire to pursue a religious path.
