Many professional dancers from Dancing With the Stars have openly shared their journeys into motherhood over the years. They have often displayed their baby bumps during breaks from the ABC show.
Peta Murgatroyd announced in June 2016 that she and her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy, were expecting their first child. Murgatroyd proudly showcased her growing bump before their son, Shai, was born seven months later.
Another DWTS professional, Lindsay Arnold, revealed her first pregnancy in May 2020. The Season 25 winner displayed her bump that same month in a red bikini at 14 weeks pregnant.
Arnold posted a mirror selfie on Instagram at the time, stating she "can’t wait to recreate this photo as our baby grows and see the progress." She spoke to Us Weekly in June 2020, admitting she was initially "waiting" for her bump to become noticeable.
Arnold explained in July that she started to wonder, "Is this weird? Like, I feel like I should be much bigger." She noted her body was changing.
"When I looked in the mirror and was like, ‘Oh my gosh. There’s a baby in there.’ It was so cool," Arnold added, reflecting on the experience. This trend of dancers embracing motherhood extends to others like Witney Carson and Karina Smirnoff.
