Season 11 of Dancing with the Stars will launch this Friday, September 17. This new edition will welcome new candidates but also new jurors, new rules as well as a great first in France.
Canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the front page dance competition is finally back. This year, he will see 13 personalities treading the floor: the actors Jean-Baptiste Maunier (Les Choristes), Lucie Lucas (Clem) and Aurélie Pons (Here everything begins), the Youtubeur Michou, the American burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, the former adventurer of Koh-Lanta Moussa, Miss France 2019 Vaimalama Chaves, comedians Lola Dubini and Gérémy Crédeville, and singers Lââm, Wejdene, Tayc, and Bilal Hassani.
The latter will mark the history of the show since he will be (finally) the first candidate of DALS France to dance in pairs with a person of the same sex.
New jury
After the death of Patrick Dupond last year, and the departure of Jean-Marc Généreux on France 2, the historic juror of the program Chris Marques will be surrounded for the first time by the couturier Jean-Paul Gaultier, the dancer Denitsa Ikonomova and the principal dancer of the Paris Opera François Au.
As for the dancers, Fauve Hautot, Candice Pascal, Inès Vandamme, Christophe Licata, Maxime Dereymez, Anthony Colette and Jordan Mouillerac, will be joined by five newcomers: Coralie Licata (wife of Christophe Licata), Elsa Bois, Adrien Caby, Joël Luzolo and Samuel Texier.

Dance with the Stars is still presented by Camille Combal. He will be alone in charge since Karine Ferri, who spoke during the show, will now officiate in the second part of the evening.
a NEW MECHANICS
The first two numbers have been recorded, the following ones will be played live. This Friday, September 17, six first candidates will compete and one candidate will be eliminated. The other participants will operate in the same way the following week, and all the candidates still in the running will then be reunited on October 1st.
Installed on armchairs in front of giant screens, and no longer behind a desk, the four members of the jury will now be equipped with a buzzer. “During the first two evenings, if we have a crush and support all four, that will automatically qualify a couple for the rest,” explains Parisian François Alu. But beware, this buzzer will change function during the season and may send the participants directly to the ballot.
Another novelty of the 2021 vintage inspired by the American edition, a “Hot Seat” armchair will appear and will welcome in turn the last couple in the ranking. At the end of each bonus the last three of the ranking will be submitted to the ‘Face to face’ at the end of which a couple will be saved by the public, the second by the jury and the third eliminated from the competition.
