Damonte has already warned that he will leave Sarmiento

Israel Damonte resigned as Sarmiento’s coach and next Saturday he will direct the last game against Banfield for the twenty-seventh and last date of the Professional League, the Juninense club announced on its social networks on Monday.

“Club Atlético Sarmiento informs its associates and supporters that yesterday our Technical Director, Israel Damonte, informed the leadership that next Saturday against Banfield, he will direct his last game at this stage as coach of our institution,” the Buenos Aires entity indicates on its Twitter account.

Damonte told the managers on Sunday night of his intention to leave the team after the defeat against Defensa y Justicia by 3-0 in the Professional League and that next Saturday he will lead the team for the last time in the clash against Banfield at the Eva Perón stadium in Junín.

The former coach of Huracán and Arsenal de Sarandí has ​​led Sarmiento since January of the previous year and faced the Junín team in the 2022 and 2023 Professional Leagues and the 2022 Professional League Cup. During his tenure as “Green” coach, Damonte led 69 games (Saturday’s will be 70), with 21 wins, 19 draws and 29 losses, with an ERA of 39, 61 percent.
