The music world is buzzing with unsettling news. Singer D4vd, known for hits like “Romantic Homicide,” has reportedly canceled his remaining US tour dates. This sudden halt comes amid a homicide investigation. Police found a body inside a car, which is said to be registered to the 20-year-old artist.
The team behind D4vd made the tough call on Thursday, September 18. They canceled the final two shows of his “Withered Tour.” These were set for San Francisco on Friday, September 19, and Los Angeles on Saturday, September 20. Sources shared this information with TMZ on Friday. Fans were also looking forward to seeing D4vd at a Grammy Museum event on September 24. However, that performance has also been canceled. The museum’s website no longer lists the event. This string of cancellations started after D4vd’s Seattle concert on Tuesday, September 16, was also called off.
Interestingly, tickets for D4vd’s European tour are still available. That leg of the tour is scheduled to kick off in Norway on October 1.
The grim investigation began earlier this month. Authorities responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue in Hollywood on September 8. They were called because of a “foul odor” coming from a vehicle at a towing yard. This detail was confirmed by police to Us Weekly on September 9. Detectives arrived and discovered what they believed were human remains inside a Tesla. Various news outlets reported that this vehicle was registered to David Anthony Burke, also known as D4vd, in Hempstead, Texas. Us Weekly reached out to D4vd for his comments on the situation.
A spokesperson for D4vd spoke to NBC News. They stated that the artist “has been informed about what happened.” The spokesperson added that D4vd “is cooperating fully with authorities,” even while he is still on tour. It is important to note that D4vd has not been named a suspect in the case. He also faces no charges related to any crime.

The body found in the car was identified as Celeste Rivas. She was a 15-year-old who had been reported missing in April 2024. Police confirmed this identification to NBC Los Angeles on Wednesday, September 17. Rivas’s mother spoke to TMZ this week. She shared that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. The mother also revealed a distinctive detail: Rivas had a red tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhhh…” Interestingly, D4vd sports the exact same tattoo in black on his right index finger. This tattoo, made famous by Rihanna in 2008, was first seen on D4vd in September 2024.
Authorities also confirmed on Wednesday that a house was searched as part of the investigation. This home is located in Hollywood Hills, California. It is not yet clear how this residence connects to the death investigation. TMZ reported that authorities left the house with a computer and several bags of evidence. While D4vd does not own the home, KABC Los Angeles reported that he was staying there.
This difficult situation has also impacted other artists. Kali Uchis, a collaborator with D4vd, faced criticism for her work on his song “Crashing.” The track is part of his debut album, “Withered,” released earlier this year. Uchis, 31, responded to the backlash on Instagram. In a comment posted on September 11, she wrote, “Not my friend, I made a song with him that is currently in the process of being removed, given today’s disturbing news.”
