The music world is watching singer D4vd closely. He’s been releasing songs since 2021, but a serious event recently put him in the news. A body was found in a car registered in his name, stirring up a lot of questions.
In September 2025, Us Weekly confirmed the discovery. Possible human remains were found inside a Tesla. The car was parked at a vehicle lot in California. Records showed it belonged to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The musician has not spoken publicly about the situation. Police are actively involved in an investigation into the death.
Weeks later, authorities identified the person who died. It was 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
The Artist’s Roots
David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, comes from Queens, New York. He was born in March 2005, making him 20 years old today.
From Gaming to “Romantic Homicide”
D4vd’s journey into music began in 2021. He first shared his songs on SoundCloud. His career took a big leap with his breakthrough single, "Romantic Homicide," which came out in 2022. The song’s lyrics hint at deep romantic struggles, with lines like, "In the back of my mind / I killed you / And I don’t even regret it." He also sings, "I can’t believe I said it / But it’s true / I hate you."
His debut album, Withered, arrived in April 2025. D4vd once told Atwood magazine that year that his music often feels like a conversation. "I feel like my music can be seen as that I’m talking to another person or like I’m talking to myself," he explained. He views it as a "love-hate relationship" with his own changing thoughts and growing personality. It’s about letting go of old ways and facing new situations differently.
The same month Withered came out, D4vd discussed how it differed from his earlier work. Speaking on the "Zach Sang Show," he described the album as a "resurrection." He mentioned the final song, "Afterlife," as the project’s "final blow." He said he writes about his emotions and vulnerabilities, something he didn’t do much before. He shared that being homeschooled meant he didn’t have many stories to tell in his previous projects.
Celeste Rivas Found in D4vd’s Car
The body of Celeste Rivas was discovered in an abandoned Tesla. This car was registered under D4vd’s name. So far, the singer has not commented on any personal connection to the deceased teenager.
A spokesperson for D4vd gave a statement to NBC News in September 2025. They said that D4vd "has been informed of what happened." They also added that he is "cooperating fully with the authorities," even while he continues his tour.
A Shared Tattoo and Unanswered Questions
Reports from TMZ indicate a striking detail. Police identified Rivas partly by a distinctive tattoo. It was the word "Shhh…" on her right index finger. TMZ also claimed that D4vd has the very same tattoo on his right index finger.
Rivas was first reported missing in late 2024. Her mother told TMZ that Celeste had a boyfriend named David. However, it has not been confirmed if this "David" is the musician D4vd. Adding to the mystery, an unconfirmed leak on SoundCloud suggests D4vd might have an unreleased song named after Rivas.
