Czech National Team Manager Issues Stern Warning to Star Player: ‘Will Have to Replace Him’ if Unproductive in Hungary Match

Jenson Button Joins Chorus of Critics Against Checo Pérez

Checo Pérez, the Mexican Formula 1 driver, is facing increasing criticism, with the latest addition being none other than his former teammate, Jenson Button. The two drivers had a tumultuous relationship during their time at McLaren in 2013, and it appears that Button has not forgotten his negative experiences with Pérez.

According to Button, Pérez is having a tough time on the track, with his poor results affecting not only his own position in the drivers’ standings but also his team’s chances in the constructors’ championship. "It’s tough, I know it’s not a nice feeling for a driver, but the championship is important for them," Button said.

Button believes that Pérez’s performance decline is a major issue and that he needs to find a solution as soon as possible. "I think that in the next race, if he doesn’t score points, they will have to take him out of the car," he warned.

The criticism from Button comes as Pérez is struggling to find his form, having not scored a podium finish since the Chinese Grand Prix and failing to break into the top five in recent races. His current sixth-place position in the drivers’ standings could be overtaken by the Mercedes duo this weekend in Hungary.

The constructors’ championship is also in danger, with Pérez’s poor results affecting his team’s chances of retaining their title. Button believes that McLaren, currently in second place, is a major threat to Red Bull’s dominance, and that Pérez needs to up his game to prevent a slide down the standings.

Pérez’s performance decline is evident, with a gap of 137 points between him and his teammate, Max Verstappen. With two more drivers between them in the standings, Pérez’s task is becoming increasingly difficult. Silverstone was a particularly tough weekend for Pérez, who finished 17th, two laps behind the leader, and Button believes that the Mexican driver needs to score points at least if he is to remain competitive.
