Cyclists without equipment by 2024

The big personalities of the peloton are already preparing for the 2024 season… although a month before the official start of the season, there are some cyclists who are still without a team to this day next year, as the ProCyclingStats portal reports.

The most notable case is that of the Spanish cyclist David de la Cruz, 34 years old, who, after not renewing with Astana, does not yet have a confirmed team for 2024. In 2023, De la Cruz achieved good results such as his eighth place overall in O Gran Camiño or twelfth place in Paris-Hübsch. However, he had to abandon the Tour de France after a serious fall in the twelfth stage and was also eliminated from the last Vuelta a España when he was just outside the top 10 in the overall classification.

The 37-year-old Costa Rican Andrey Amador also remains without a confirmed team for 2024, although the Costa Rican assured that he will try to continue for two more seasons with EF Education – Easypost. Amador has played an important role as a team player for Movistar and Ineos throughout his career and wants to continue riding in the peloton in 2024.

The list of cyclists without a team for 2024 also includes names like Kazakh Andrey Zeits, Eritrean Merhawi Kudus, Norwegian Odd Christian Eiking, leader in seven stages and eleventh at La Vuelta 2021; American Joe Dombrowski, stage winner at the 2021 Giro d’Italia; or the Colombian Álvaro Hodeg.
