The Tour de France has reached its halfway point, and the grueling stages are taking a toll on the cyclists. Temperature fluctuations and physical exhaustion are beginning to affect the athletes’ bodies as the crucial moment of the French round approaches.

Bahrain Victorious Hit by Health Problems

One of the teams most affected by health issues is Bahrain Victorious. The group, led by Pello Bilbao, has activated the COVID protocol, although all tests conducted on their cyclists have been negative to date.

Riders Struggle to Complete Stages

Yesterday, several riders at the Evaux les Bain start traveled in individual cars wearing protective masks, while others rode in the team bus. Pello Bilbao faced a challenging day in the Massif Central, finishing 38:02 minutes behind the stage winner, Jonas Vingegaard. Despite his struggles, Bahrain has confirmed that Bilbao will start today’s stage. Another key cyclist, Matej Mohoric, entered yesterday’s stage visibly weakened.

Other Riders Also Struggle

Fred Wright finished almost 54 minutes behind the Dane, while others like Santi Buitrago were able to complete the stage with the group of favorites.
