The Curaçao Refinery and Global Oil Management Group (GOMG) solidified their collaboration, mainly focused on the production and export of asphalt, after signing new agreements yesterday.
The former Prime Minister of Curaçao, Gilmar Pisas, praised GOMG as a leading company in the niche market of asphalt production and export. The agreement marks an important milestone as GOMG prepares for the necessary operational preparations.
Pisas clarified that this partnership does not hinder ongoing efforts to find an operator for the Refinery. This agreement is of great importance for our community and, in particular, for the economy of our country.
In addition, it will improve Curaçao’s position in the industrial and oil sectors.” Pisas also highlighted that more than 300 technical jobs will be created this year alone, focused on maintenance and operations.

Global Oil Management Group is making significant investments to use the refinery units and facilities. It will collaborate with local contractors to execute the initial phase of operations, followed by later phases for the production and export of various products. Pisas further underscored the broad benefits of this collaboration, including job creation and income generation through services at the Refinery, port services and other areas of support to global operations. The former Prime Minister praised the international renown of Global Oil Management Group, its extensive connections in the United States and South America and its client base around the world.
