The San Francisco Giants set their 26-man roster for the National League Division Series against the Dodgers on Friday, although one player was conspicuous by his absence: Johnny Cueto.
Cueto, the Giants’ longest-serving pitcher, was dropped from the roster after missing most of September with a right elbow injury. The 35-year veteran returned for the final weekend of the regular season, but the club asked him to move to the bullpen for the first time in his 14-year career.
