Chennai Super Kings have made a significant move ahead of IPL 2025, replacing injured fast bowler Gurjapneet Singh with South African youngster Dewald Brevis. The 21-year-old batter joins CSK for 2.2 crore rupees.
Brevis, known as the “Junior AB,” has already made a name for himself in franchise tournaments worldwide. He previously played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. In the 2025 SA20 league, Brevis scored 291 runs at a strike rate of 184.17, helping MI Cape Town win the title. He finished sixth among the top scorers.
