CSK Edges KKR in Thrilling Match, Wins by 2 Wickets in Last Over

Chennai Super Kings pulled off a thrilling 2-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. KKR’s 179-run total had put CSK in a tough spot, especially after they lost both openers for ducks.

Ayush Mahatbre and Devon Conway were the unlucky ones, both dismissed without scoring. But Urvil Patel, making his IPL debut, turned heads with a fiery 31-run knock, smashing 1 four and 4 sixes.

A rocky start for CSK

CSK’s top order crumbled, with Ravichandran Ashwin managing just 8 runs at number 4. Ravindra Jadeja added 19 runs off 10 balls before getting out. By the time CSK were 60/5, it seemed like a KKR win was on the cards.

A turnaround

Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis changed the game’s course with a 67-run stand. Brevis blazed 52 runs off 25 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. Dube played a steady hand, scoring 45 runs off 40 balls. When Dube got out in the 19th over, CSK fans must have held their breath.
MS Dhoni, however, stayed calm, forging a crucial 43-run partnership with Dube. Though Dhoni was dismissed for 17 off 18 balls, Anshul Kamboj sealed the win with a boundary.

In the end, CSK’s grit and determination paid off, as they eked out a win by 2 wickets.
