CS2: The MongolZ Bench Champion Senzu, Surprising Esports World

The MongolZ, a prominent Mongolian esports team, has unexpectedly benched star Counter-Strike 2 player Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold, a move that surprised fans despite the team’s recent championship successes.

The organization announced the “difficult decision” on Wednesday, stating it followed “careful discussions between players and management.” The team lauded Senzu for his contributions to Mongolian esports, showcasing “world class talent, dedication, and determination.”

The 19-year-old player had been a core part of The MongolZ since September 2023. During his tenure, the team achieved significant victories.

These included first-place finishes at the Esports World Cup 2025 CS2 championship and YaLLa Compass 2024. Most recently, The MongolZ secured a third-place finish at the Thunderpick World Championship 2025.

Senzu responded to the news with an emotional statement, saying the decision “wasn’t sudden” but felt like “leaving my home.” He thanked his teammates and supporters.

The team’s revised CS2 roster now includes Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren, Sodbayar”Techno” Munkhbold, Ayush “mzinho” Batbold, and Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch.
