Brazilian esports organization FURIA carries the nation’s hopes into a critical quarterfinal match at the IEM Chengdu Counter-Strike 2 tournament, buoyed by two of its players being recognized among the competition’s top performers.
Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato and Danil “molodoy” Golubenko are listed as “Top Players” by the esports statistics website HLTV. The team itself also ranks among the best organizations in the tournament.
FURIA, the sole Brazilian representative remaining, is set to face The MongolZ in a best-of-three series. The winner will secure a coveted spot in the semifinals.

The IEM Chengdu tournament, featuring the popular Counter-Strike 2 title, is slated to conclude on Sunday, October 9.
Another Brazilian team, paiN Gaming (PNG), was eliminated from the competition earlier. PNG lost 2-1 to The MongolZ on Wednesday, October 5.
