This Tuesday marks the start of the Fissure Playground #1. It’s a big international Counter-Strike 2 tournament. Sixteen teams are set to compete for the championship. Three teams from Brazil are among them.
We’re talking about FURIA, paiN, and MIBR. These teams have a lot to prove. They missed out on a spot in the Esports World Cup (EWC). So, this event in Belgrade, Serbia, is their chance to make a statement. The tournament runs from July 15 to July 20.

How the Tournament Works
The competition is split into two main parts: a group stage and then a playoff bracket.
Group Stage Details
Teams are sorted into four groups. Each group has four teams. They play against everyone else in their group. Every match in this stage is a “best of three” game. Only the top two teams from each group move forward. Here’s how the groups are set:
- Group A: FURIA, GamerLegion, SAW, and Wildcard
- Group B: paiN, 3DMAX, Rare Atom, and Lynn Vision
- Group C: MIBR, Virtus.pro, Astralis, and TYLOO
- Group D: Complexity, HEROIC, BIG, and BB Team
Playoff Rounds
Once the groups are done, it’s a “single elimination” bracket. This means if a team loses, they are out. There’s no second chance. The Quarterfinals and Semifinals are also “best of three” matches. But for the Grand Final, teams will play a “best of five” series to decide the champion.

The Big Prize
The Fissure Playground #1 offers a serious payout. The total prize pool for this event is $1 million. That’s a huge sum. It puts this tournament in line with many other major competitions in the esports world. HLTV confirmed this prize money amount.
