Crypto transactions are now possible on MoneyGram via app for US customers

A new service has been rolled out on MoneyGram International that allows consumers to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies through the MoneyGram mobile app. Initially, US customers will be able to access it, but it is expected to expand to all users worldwide soon.

Cooperation MoneyGram and Coinme

With the update, MoneyGram customers can now trade and/or store Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC) through MoneyGram’s mobile app. The new feature is reportedly born out of a new partnership with Coinme. Coinme is a licensed crypto exchange and API-driven crypto-as-a-service provider.

Both companies have partnered to further expand access to crypto by creating thousands of locations across the US since 2021 where consumers can buy and sell Bitcoin with cash.

More cryptos available in the future

In addition, the number of cryptocurrencies offered will be expanded in the future. According to the company, this is the latest crypto-related service launch from a company that brings real-world cryptocurrency and blockchain use cases to life.

Initially, MoneyGram started as a digital wallet service through various collaborations with Coinme, G-Coin and Stellar, among others. Now, however, they are expanding their services further and further. It is unknown what the company’s next move will be.
