A Bangkok cryptocurrency miner has reportedly been running 223 crypto miners on illegally obtained power. In total, the man would steal 10 million Baht, or approximately € 270,000 in electricity.
Charge filed
In the meantime, charges have already been filed with the local police against the tenant of 5 retail properties in Bangkok. The tenant is accused of stealing power in the city.
Recently, the theft was discovered due to a raid carried out in the Tha Kham area of Bang Khunthian district by officials from the Bang Khunthian office and the local police.
The shops are said to be connected to the power grid, but without a single meter. This allowed them to run 223 crypto miners for over a year without having to pay for it.
It is not yet known how high the fine will be for the tenant of the 5 retail properties, on top of the amount of the electricity that will have to be repaid.
