1 million daily active crypto wallets
A recent report from DappRadar shows that more than a million unique wallets were active in blockchain games every day in October.
According to the data firm’s graph, the number of daily active users of crypto games has risen sharply since September. There have already been several days this month when more than a million wallets were active.
This upward trend continued in October and in November the number of daily active wallets exceeded one million.
However, these are not new records. During the 2021 bull market, the number of active wallets also reached one million. Well-known games like Splinterlands, Alien Worlds and Axie Infinity became popular back then.
Now that we may be slowly entering a new bull market, we will finally see user numbers return to these levels.
Bot accounts in crypto games are a known problem
However, this type of games suffers from so-called “bot accounts”. Users can use bots to automatically earn rewards. This means they don’t have to play the game themselves, saving time and still getting their rewards.
So it’s not entirely fair, but it’s been a known problem in blockchain gaming for a long time. Alien Worlds is one of the games that suffers from bot accounts. The Alien Worlds Twitter account reported At least 1.6 million bot accounts were recently identified.

How realistic is the data?
It is therefore somewhat unclear how many of these users are real people and not bots. In addition, a user can also have multiple wallets.
Even on social media, people often wonder whether the data paints a realistic picture of the games on the blockchain. In short, it is difficult to find out exactly how many individual players are currently playing blockchain games.
