Cristina: the trial is a “fiction”

Argentine Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner attacked the prosecutors who asked for a 12-year prison sentence on Tuesday, stating that they had not proven “anything they said” during the trial in which they accuse her of corruption, which she described as fictional”. Fernández de Kirchner said in a presentation broadcast from her office in the Senate that the accusations against her were framed to persecute her politically and she targeted the prosecutors for citing witnesses “with testimonies that collapsed” throughout throughout court hearings.

Diego Luciani, one of the official accusers of the trial of the vice president, requested the day before a sentence of 12 years in prison and his disqualification from holding public office after accusing her of having led a criminal organization that he adjudicated irregularly during his term (2007- 2015) some 51 works to Lázaro Báez, a businessman close to him, and thereby defrauded the State of some 1,000 million dollars.
