In June this year, Cristiano Ronaldo signed a non-fungible token (NFT) deal with Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. The intention of this multi-year deal was to bring football fans to the world of NFTs and web3 through multiple NFT collections. These collections would then be sold exclusively through Binance’s NFT platform. At the time it was still unclear what exactly the NFTs would be, but that ambiguity has now come to an end. The exchange has on his website namely revealed details about Cristiano Ronaldo’s upcoming NFT collection.
Ronaldo NFTs
The collection will be available from Friday, November 18 and includes seven animated statues with four rarity levels: Super Super Rare (S.S.R.), Super Weird (SR), Weird (R) and Normal (N). Each statue depicts Ronaldo at an iconic moment in his life, from career defining bicycle kicks until his youth in Portugal.
Each rarity level has its own set of exclusive perks ranging from: a virtual one meet and greetsigned Ronaldo and Binance merchandise, whitelist access to future NFT dropsCR7 mystery boxes of future NFT collections and access to giveaways with signed merchandise and prizes.
45 of the highest value NFTs (5 SSR and 40 SR) will be auctioned on the Binance NFT marketplace. This auction will run for 24 hours and bidding will start from 10,000 Binance USD (BUSD) for the SSR and 1,700 BUSD for the SR. The other 6,600 NFTs (600 R and 6,000 N) are Subscription Mechanism Launchpad offered, from 77 BUSD for the normal rarity.
The Portuguese superstar commented on the new NFT collection as follows:
