Cristiano achieves a new record: the players who have scored in the most World Cups

Cristiano has once again written his name in the history books this Thursday. The star from Madeira has become the first footballer to score a goal in five World Cups. The Portuguese began his idyll with the highest national team tournament in the World Cup in Germany 2006 when he scored a goal against Iran. In South Africa 2010 he participated with a goal and an assist in the win against North Korea 7-0. Four years later, in 2014, he scored for Ghana in Brazil. His fourth World Cup was that of Russia 2018 in which he scored a hat-trick against Spain and added a bit more against Morocco. In Qatar, and again against Ghana, he adds a bit more to his footballing legend with the penalty goal he scored after Salisu’s tackle inside the area.

Cristiano leaves behind the goals in four World Cups Lothar Matthäus, Maradona, Messi, Pelé, Ronaldo, Henry, Wilmots, Hierro, Cahill, Seeler and Klose. The latter is the one with the most goals in World Cup events with 16 beating ronaldo with 15, Gerd Muller with 14, Fontaine with 13, Pele and his 12 goals, the 11 of Kocsi and Klinsman, the 10 of Helmut Rahn, Lineker and Batistuta. Christian approaches them with 8 targets in his global career.
