Cristian Javier: “I am prepared to achieve success against Nicaragua”

Cristian Javier recognizes the great commitment he has in seeking to give the Dominican Republic its first victory in the World Baseball Classic.

Far from being pressured by the failure of the Dominican Republic against Venezuela, Javier shows integrity and with him at the forefront neutralizes the Nicaraguan team, which the Dominican Republic will face for the first time.

"We have to stay positive and not think about what happened against Venezuela. I am focused on my responsibility against Nicaragua"expressed Cristian Javier, after the practice today of the tricolor team in this educational complex.

Javier, who was an essential part of the Astros’ championship in 2022, is focused on keeping his pitches in the zone and completing as many innings as possible. The pitch limit in this first round is 65. Javier has a fastball, curveball, slider and changeup.

“I have mentally prepared myself to be successful against Nicaragua,” Javier said.

“We trust that Cristian is going to come out and do the job. It will be him and we know the material he has"said the Dominican leader Rodney Linares.

On his side, the pitching coach, Wellington Cepeda, stated that there is no panic in the Dominican team and that the necessary adjustments will be made against the Nicaraguan team.

"We know the mission we have. There is no panic here. Despite the defeat, our team remains united and positive. We know Cristian’s potential. In addition to the fact that the pitching will be rested and we have players like César Valdez and Luis Ortiz who can provide us with multiple innings, if necessary,” Cepeda said.
