Argentine businesswoman Mariela Sánchez has revealed new details regarding the definitive end of her relationship with singer Cristian Castro. The couple’s romance concluded a year after they publicly discussed reconciliation and plans for children.
Sánchez shared her perspective on the split during an interview with the program “A la Tarde” on America Televisión. She described it simply as “the end of a relationship.”
She explained that they had traveled extensively, from Miami through several countries, ultimately ending their journey in Córdoba, Argentina. It was there that Castro made the decision to separate.
According to Sánchez, Castro “woke up one day and told me he wanted to leave the house and it ended.” She noted that the separation occurred on good terms.
Sánchez acknowledged fundamental differences, stating, “We have two different worlds.” She clarified that her extensive travel with Castro was always her “own decision,” not an obligation.
Amidst the breakup news, a video emerged showing Cristian Castro with Marcela De Philippis, a leader of his fan club in Mendoza. Magazine ¡Hola! reported Mariela was “frozen” by this development.
The publication added that Castro had already moved out of their shared home four days prior to the video surfacing.
However, Sánchez emphasized on “A la Tarde” that “nothing bad” had happened between them. She also downplayed previous wedding discussions, stating, “There was nothing decided. I believe we both love each other very much.”
As of this report, Cristian Castro has not made any public statements about the end of his relationship with Mariela Sánchez.
This latest split follows a previous reconciliation for the couple. In early October 2024, Castro and Sánchez appeared on Susana Giménez’s show, openly discussing their renewed romance.
At the time, they even contemplated having children, with Castro remarking, “We’ve talked about it, yes we want to.”
Their previous separation in mid-May was triggered by leaked audio recordings where Mariela was heard speaking negatively about Castro. She told the program “Mañanísima” that an artist with a good manager could handle such a situation. Sánchez also mentioned having “very strong” private conversations with Castro that she would not reveal.
Cristian Castro addressed the fallout from these audios during his interview with Susana Giménez. He recounted missing Sánchez greatly despite her “bad words” in the recordings. He invited her to Miami, where they reconciled, only for the audios to then emerge.
Castro shared that his mother, Verónica Castro, informed him of the leaked recordings. He recalled Mariela crying profusely and admitted he was angry, leading to their prior breakup. Despite the incident, both Mariela and Cristian confirmed that Sánchez maintained a “fantastic” relationship with Verónica Castro, who had “accepted” her.
