Crime down 95%, says Kandahar police chief

Kandahar: IG Police Kandahar says that crime has come down by 95% since our arrival in Kandahar.

In an exclusive interview with ARY News anchor Arshad Sharif, IG Police Kandahar said that we have more than 3,000 police personnel, who are paying their salaries through banks.

IG Kandahar said that our intelligence agencies are working, numbers have been advertised through media. Contact the public on their complaint.

He said that all major crimes have been eradicated from the province and minor incidents have been reported.

IG Kandahar said that all the personnel working in the police have been asked to return to their posts. The police is working through Islamic Sharia and Shura system.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the international community should play a role for economic betterment in Afghanistan because the economic crisis in Afghanistan is not in anyone’s favor.

In a press conference with his Spanish counterpart in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that the situation in Afghanistan was discussed with the Spanish Foreign Minister.

On the situation in Afghanistan, the Foreign Minister said that lasting peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of the region, the international community should play a role for economic betterment in Afghanistan because the economic crisis in Afghanistan is not in anyone’s favor.
