Cricketer Bursts into Tears at Airport, Vows Never to Return to Pakistan Again

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) was on the brink of chaos. Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated, with both countries exchanging missile fire and bombing. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) eventually decided to postpone the PSL 2025.

Bangladeshi cricketer Rishad Hossain was part of the tournament. After the PSL, he and other players, including Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Kusal Perera, David Willey, and Tom Curran, boarded a flight out of Pakistan. Hossain shared his experience with reporters at Dubai Airport.

Fear and Anxiety

The players were visibly shaken. Daryl Mitchell told Hossain he would never set foot in Pakistan again, especially during times of crisis. Tom Curran broke down when he learned the airport had been shut down. He cried like a child, requiring several people to calm him down.

Narrow Escape

Hossain revealed that their flight had taken off just 20 minutes before the airport was attacked. This close call left a lasting impression on him. Upon landing in Dubai, he felt like he had been given a second chance at life.

The incident highlights the risks and uncertainties faced by cricketers in Pakistan and raises questions about the country’s safety and security measures for international players.
