Former Indian cricketer Amit Mishra is facing serious allegations from his wife, Garima Mishra, who claims she was harassed and tortured for dowry.
Garima has filed a domestic violence case against Amit and his family, seeking ₹1 crore in compensation. She alleges that they demanded ₹10 lakh and a car from her. The court has issued a notice to the accused, with the next hearing scheduled for May 26.

Garima’s allegations against Amit are severe. She claims that he and his family members, including his parents, Shashikant and Beena Mishra, his brother Amar Mishra, sister-in-law Ritu Mishra, and sister-in-law Swati Mishra, were all involved in the alleged harassment.
She states that they demanded ₹10 lakh in cash and a car, and when their demands weren’t met, they delayed her vidai (departure after marriage). Garima alleges that Amit would often get violent and abusive towards her under his family’s influence. She also claims that he would take away the money she earned from modeling.
Amit’s Cricketing Career
Amit Mishra, 42, has had a notable cricketing career, representing India in all three formats. He has played 22 Test matches, 36 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, taking 76, 64, and 16 wickets, respectively. In the IPL, he has appeared in 162 matches, claiming 174 wickets. He has played for teams like Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants.
Garima’s Specific Allegations
Garima’s allegations against Amit include claims that he would often talk to other girls on Instagram and threaten her with divorce. She states that she was finally able to leave her in-laws’ house after paying ₹2.5 lakh. The allegations have put Amit’s personal life under scrutiny, raising questions about his conduct both on and off the field.
