Covid-19: United Kingdom registers 65 deaths and 24,000 new cases in one day

The United Kingdom has registered 65 deaths associated with covid-19 in the last 24 hours and a total of 24,470 new cases, according to the official website of the British health authorities with the update of the pandemic situation.

According to the most recent data on the pandemic in the country, in the last seven days there were 187,548 people who tested positive for covid-19, indicating a 30% decrease in the number of cases, compared to the previous seven days.

Regarding the number of deaths, in the last seven days there was a total of 525, showing an increase of 16.7% compared to the previous week.

Health authorities reported that 5,916 patients were admitted to hospitals on Friday, of which 869 were dependent on ventilation.

Between July 21 and 27, 6,327 people were hospitalized with the disease, an increase of 14.8% compared to the previous seven days, the ‘site’ says.

As of Friday, the UK had 38.1 million people with full vaccinations and 46.8 million with the first dose.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 4,220,816 deaths worldwide, among more than 197.8 million cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the latest Agence France-Presse report, published today.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, South Africa, Brazil and Peru.
