The UK today recorded 671 deaths associated with covid-19 disease and 38,598 new cases from the new coronavirus confirmed in the laboratory, a decrease from the previous day’s figures (41,346), the UK government said.
A total of 89,261 deaths from covid-19 have been reported in the UK to date, a statistic which only includes deaths that occurred within 28 days of the patient’s first positive test, according to information available on the ‘page’ online of the British executive.
Since the start of the pandemic, the country has recorded a total of 3,395,959 cases of contagion confirmed after a positive test.
The covid-19 disease pandemic has already claimed at least 2,022,740 deaths resulting from more than 94.4 million cases of infection worldwide.
