While healthcare workers and scientists fear the fourth wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, the incidence rate is starting to decline in some departments. How to explain this phenomenon?
Although the epidemic remains worrisome, the curves appear to have decreased for a few days, as in the Eastern Pyrenees, in Charente-Maritime and even in Paris.
“We must be cautious, this drop has only been there for 24-48 hours,” warns Dr. Réginald Allouche. “We must not lower the pressure (on the virus), we must eliminate it. Until this is done, we will not achieve it.”
According to him, this drop could suggest that it is an effect of the vaccination. But we must be cautious: “the virus has a tendency to remain a bit calm and then turn exponential. What is necessary is to see when the slope goes up ”.
To keep this “good news” in certain departments, the doctor calls as many people as possible to get vaccinated.
