Covid-19: The heartbreaking message from comedian Edgar Ramirez after the death of his aunt, uncle, grandmother and agent

A cry from the heart. A few days after a virtual discussion with Dr. Anthony Fauci, the American expert on infectious diseases, on the importance of vaccination, Edgar Ramirez revealed that he had lost 5 of his relatives due to Covid-19.

During his conversation with Doctor Fauci, Edgar Ramirez had shared his grief at having lost his grandmother, Bertha, a month before due to the coronavirus. The actor then specified that other relatives – including his aunt and uncle – living in Venezuela, his native country, were hospitalized and fighting for their lives.

In a long message posted on Instagram, Edgar Ramirez announced with great emotion their death. As well as that of his Venezuelan agent, Laureano, and of the brother-in-law of another of his aunts, Rafael, whom he presents as “a dear friend”.

“I ask you to read this message carefully. It’s the most painful and intimate thing I’ve published in my life, but I think it’s important to share it, ”writes the actor seen in The Undoing, Yes Day Where Jungle Cruise. “Sometimes I feel like this is a nightmare that I’m going to wake up from, but I know it’s wrong. It’s as real as the air that it’s hard for me to breathe right now. (…) My heart cannot take any more pain. I am sad, frustrated, devastated, ”he continues.

Edgar Ramirez then allows himself to recall the importance of vaccination, and that millions of people, as in Venezuela, do not have access to it. “None of my family members were vaccinated. They did not have access to it in Venezuela. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of doses are thrown away in the United States because a large part of the population does not want them. It breaks my heart to see that so many people are ready to refuse the same vaccine that my family would have accepted at the moment (…). Don’t do it for yourselves. But to protect those who are vulnerable ”, we can also read.
