Covid-19: defective FFP2 masks recalled throughout France

While wearing a mask in public transport is no longer compulsory from this Monday, May 16, check your boxes of masks carefully if you are using FFP2 at the moment. As reported Drink reminder, several batches of Virtue Health brand “FFP2 Masks” are being recalled across the country. The product reference is as follows: REF SH9801. The masks were sold between February 17, 2021 and November 24, 2021 by two boxes of 50 masks. The affected lot is 2021-53317-1. These masks are declared non-compliant and dangerous for use, due to insufficient particle filtration. The notice also indicates penetration of the filter material. The risks involved are internal damage.

A number has been set up for any questions, it is 0177381464. It is obviously advisable to stop using the product and bring it back to the point of sale for a refund. FFP2 masks are deemed to be more protective than surgical masks, as they filter aerosols.

In early May, FFP2 and FFP3 masks from the Alsace Protection brand (Made in France) were also the subject of a massive recall. Manufactured in the Hœnheim factory (Bas-Rhin), they had been declared non-compliant, even dangerous because of a filtration defect with regard to the FFP2 criteria. Regularly, marketed products are recalled, listed on the government’s Consumer Reminder service. Do not hesitate to go there regularly.
