The brothers Walter and Eduardo Pierluisi, cousins of the governor of Puerto Rico, will allegedly plead guilty this Thursday for an alleged criminal investigation, according to a court document published Monday on social networks.

The electronic calendar of the Federal Court of San Juan details, the federal judge Camille Velez Rive will hold a hearing, in which Walter and Eduardo Pierluisi will waive the accusation of the grand jury and will plead guilty agreed with the public prosecutor.

Walter Pierluisi will be represented by the lawyers Eduardo Ferrer and Osvaldo Carlo, while his brother will have the lawyers María Domínguez and Javier Micheo as his legal representatives.

The entry on the electronic calendar does not mention the charges or the federal prosecutors in the case.

On October 20, the FBI, the federal Department of Housing, and the United States Office of the Inspector General raided the headquarters of American Management and the Pierluisi Isern Law Office in San Juan, both owned by Walter Pierluisi.

The authorities also raided the residence of Eduardo Pierluisi.

One month after this intervention, the Public Housing Administration canceled the contracts of American Management, which since 1995 had managed public housing in 34 municipalities.

From the beginning, the governor distanced himself from his "third cousins" despite the fact that they held important positions in their political campaigns.

"I confirm that we are indeed relatives, but I do not have any information about the reason for the search, who is the card (suspect) or the objective of that investigation that is apparently ongoing. I don’t have any details"said the president in statements to the media at the time.
