According to the white club, Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid’s Belgium goalkeeper, underwent satisfactory surgery this Thursday for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The operation was performed by Dr. performed by Manuel Leyes, under the supervision of the Real Madrid medical service. The club’s brief statement simply states that the goalkeeper “will start his recovery in the coming days”.
Courtois expects at least six months of recovery as the Belgian also has a meniscus attack.
Courtois was injured in training with his side just before the start of the league.
“You never expect to go through something like this, but now is the time to accept it and do whatever it takes to overcome it and come back even stronger“, the goalkeeper expressed on his social networks.
