Pakistan News: A special court in Pakistan has summoned Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz in a money laundering case. The court on Saturday summoned him to September 7 to frame charges against him in the Rs 16 billion money laundering case. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) booked Shahbaz (70), his sons — Hamza (47) and Suleman (40) under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption and Money Laundering Act in November 2020. was registered.

His lawyers requested a one-month exemption. Shahbaz’s lawyer Amjad Parvez told the court that his client is not keeping well and has been advised not to travel. Hamza’s lawyer Rao Aurangzeb said his client has severe back pain and needs rest. FIA lawyer Farooq Bajwa did not object to the exemption. The court then granted the exemption.

FIA unearths 28 anonymous accounts of Shahbaz family

Bajwa told the court that the agency has obtained the records of 19 bank accounts of the PM’s second son Sulema while the records of the other seven are yet to be obtained. After hearing both the sides, the court adjourned the hearing of the matter till September 7. For that day, the court has summoned Shahbaz and Hamza in connection with the framing of charges. According to the FIA ​​report submitted to the court, the investigation team has ‘traced’ 28 benami accounts of the Shahbaz family. Through these, money laundering of Rs 16.3 billion was done during 2008-18.
