Costinha, a forward for Portugal’s Pacos de Ferreira, has been recognized for scoring the best goal in the country’s second division for the months of September and October, attributing his individual success to team effort.
The player received the award on Tuesday for his strike, voted by fans as the standout moment from September and October in the Liga Portugal 2 SABSEG. He shared the distinction with his teammates, emphasizing a collective achievement.
“Diego recovered the ball, and we, wingers, playing on the opposite foot, often try to go to the middle and shoot,” Costinha told league media. “This time it went well.”
The goal proved crucial, earning his team a valuable point in the league. Costinha reiterated that the individual award was “a result of team work.”

Costinha’s winning shot surpassed efforts from five other contenders for the award. These included Moha Moukhliss of Vizela, Davo from Penafiel, José Silva of Sporting B, Werton from Leixões, and Joanderson from Oliveirense.
