Diogo Costa and Carolina João ended the 470 sailing World Championship in seventh place after Saturday’s medal race.
They had secured a spot in the final regatta, held in Gdynia, Poland.
The Portuguese duo finished 10th and added 20 points to their net total, ending with 83 points.
Medal Race Results
The Spanish pair, Jordi Hernandez and Marta Alcantara, took the top spot.
They won the world title, adding to their European title.
They finished with 48 net points, the same as the German team, Simon Diesch and Anna Markfort.
But the Spanish duo had a better result in the final race, securing their win.
Other Results
Beatriz Gago and Rodolfo Pires finished 13th, outside the medal race.
The Spanish and German teams dominated the competition, with the Spanish duo taking the title.
Diogo Costa and Carolina João’s seventh-place finish was a respectable result for the Portuguese team.
