Corvi, a leading company in the manufacture of steel and PVC pipes, in order to reduce its impact on the environment and improve the energy efficiency of the factory, installed a photovoltaic solar system that generates an average of 1.5 megawatts (MWH).
With this use of solar energy, Corvi will stop emitting a ton of carbon dioxide, thus reducing the company’s environmental footprint.
The use of solar energy in the factory is one of the components of the environmental strategy of Corvi’s Sustainability Plan, with a view to achieving energy efficiency, proper management of natural resources and care for the environment.
Accompanying the photovoltaic energy initiative, Corvi has initiated a plan to change 100% of fluorescent luminaires for LEDS and in order to achieve energy efficiency, wiring changes are being made, installation of devices to reduce the consumption of electric motors (Drivers o Variable frequency drives) and equipment automation to lower electricity consumption.
These strategies are developed under the company’s security guidelines and its policy of always complying with local and international standards and customer expectations.
Corvi thus meets an increasingly relevant need of our society such as care for the environment and awareness of the value of non-renewable resources.
This initiative is part of the company’s Sustainability Plan, which has four strategic pillars: Governance, Relationship with employees, Support for the community and Care for the environment. This to fulfill its purpose of contributing to the sustainable and responsible growth of the country and the region.
