CONTAMINATIONS
This Tuesday, August 31, 19,425 new cases of Covid-19 were identified in 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health France, a total of 6,765,708 cases confirmed since the start of the epidemic. HOSPITALIZATIONS
In 24 hours, 941 patients were admitted to hospital, compared to 725 the day before. The intensive care services, which treat the most serious cases, are receiving 2,292 patients, two more than the day before, and 2,221 seven days earlier. This indicator has progressed slightly over the last seven days, but at a much slower pace than between the end of July and mid-August.
DEATHS
136 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total toll of this epidemic in France to 114,494 deaths.
THE VACCINATION
Since the start of the vaccination campaign, 48,638,743 people have received at least one injection, or 72.1% of the total population. Among them, 44,260,593 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (65.6% of the total population).
Fewer than 10 million French people eligible for vaccination against Covid have not yet received any dose, the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday, saying to pay “special attention” to the 600,000 people over 80 years of age in this situation.
