CONTAMINATIONS

This Saturday, September 4, 13,336 new cases of Covid-19 were identified in 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health France, a total of 6,826,042 cases confirmed since the start of the epidemic. The positivity rate, which measures the number of positive cases compared to the number of people tested, stands at 2.5%, identical to that of the day before.

HOSPITALIZATIONS

The number of hospitalized patients, which had fallen below the 11,000 mark on Thursday, fell again slightly, to 10,654 against 10,816 the day before, with 424 patients admitted in the last 24 hours. The critical care services that welcome the most serious patients now have 2,223 patients – including 159 admitted in the last 24 hours -, against 2,259 on Friday.

For ten days, the number of patients admitted to intensive care units has fluctuated between 2,200 and nearly 2,300 without showing a clear downward trend. Hospital pressure remains particularly strong in the Bouches-du-Rhône (924 hospitalized, including 213 in critical care), in Martinique (654, ​​including 151) and in Guadeloupe (596, including 89).

DEATHS

85 people have succumbed to Covid-19 in hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total toll of this epidemic in France to 114,856 deaths.

THE VACCINATION

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 49,101,185 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 72.8% of the total population) and 45,400,422 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 67.3% of the total population).
